Recognises a data requirement silent on current versus past values
What it means
The requirement does not say whether the business needs only the current value or also what the value was at an earlier date. This decides history, effective dating and SCD strategy.
How it is assessed
Flags the deficient case and passes the acceptable one. Deficient: "Record the customer's address." Acceptable: "Record the customer's address as it was on a payment's value date, so a past statement can be reproduced with the address in force at the time."
